It’s been a while but it’s time for another Rocks & Roses Blog Critique. If you aren’t familiar with what that is, it’s basically a FREE blog critique done by a fellow blogger.
What Is a Rocks & Roses Blog Critique?
Even if you are fairly new to blogging, you still have a different eye than other bloggers and you can let them know what stands out for you, what is hard on the eyes for you and if there are any technical problems they might not be aware of. The Rocks & Roses format ensures no one gets an all negative or all positive critique which can be depressing or not very helpful. Each critique must have 2 rocks (2 things that are not working as well) and 2 roses (2 things that are working well).
How Does it Work?
If you would like to get a FREE blog critique on one of your blogs and are willing to do one for someone else, sign up below! Sign ups are open until November 15 and then you will be sent your assigned blog with instructions on how to do the critique (it shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes.) Critiques will be due back to me within 2 weeks and then I’ll send them out to the blog owners. All critiques will be confidential, no one will know who did the critique. I of course will see them and know who is who but I won’t divulge that information.
By signing up, you agree to the following guidelines:
- You will be honest about the Rocks and Roses.
- You will word the Rocks nicely by giving suggestions for improvement and using a respectful tone.
- You will not get overly upset after you receive your rocks and roses. If you disagree with what they have to say, that’s okay. It’s your blog and you don’t have to follow the suggestions. But don’t take it personally.
- We are evaluating design, layout, organization, widgets/add ons, format, writing style etc,, but NOT content. We may think the blog would be better with different subjects or more/less variety but we are not the blog owner. They have decided their blog content based on what they want to blog about. Please stay away from talking about content.
