Free Kindle Books: Blogging/Social Media 2/7

Free kindle books are an excellent way to learn more about blogging and social media without breaking your budget. Also, let’s face it, not all eBooks are gems, but if it was free, you didn’t lose anything if it’s not for you.

Free Kindle Ebooks on Blogging and Social Media

Free Kindle Books

They aren’t free for long though so you have to check regularly and make sure it’s still free when you download it. If you don’t have a Kindle (like I don’t) you can still use Kindle books with a Kindle app for your smartphone or tablet OR the Kindle reading program for your computer. Even if like me you aren’t normally an e-book lover, I find blogging e-books great because they aren’t hundreds of pages long and I can click through directly to a site that is referenced.

The below books are listed as free on Amazon.com as I compile this list. However you MUST make sure it’s still free before downloading or you will be asked to pay.  It could be free for one day or one week, there is no way to know.

Easy SEO for Bloggers E-book Review

It isn’t usually till you’ve been blogging for a while that you hear about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how SEO for bloggers can increase search engine traffic to your blog.

I remember the first few times I heard it, it took me a while to figure out what it was, then when I knew what it stood for, I still didn’t really understand it. I put off learning about it figuring I had other more important things. Now that I’ve known what it is and how to use it for awhile, I wish I had started sooner.

If you are just hearing of SEO or you have heard some about it but aren’t clear exactly what steps to take and when, you may be interested in the Easy SEO for Bloggers ebook by Steph Calvert of Hearts and Laserbeams.

Twenty bloggers who participated in the January 2013 blogathon twitter parties won a copy of this ebook and I was given one to evaluate.

How to Increase Blog Traffic: Easy SEO for Bloggers e-book

Easy SEO for Bloggers

While it’s quite short (10 pages) it covers what you need to know in simple terms and if you think about it, wouldn’t you rather get the information you need in a 10 pages than in 100 pages? If you are interested in SEO for your blog, you are probably busy and don’t have time to read a 100 page manual that goes into the nitty gritty of the history of SEO or the intricacies of how search engines use it.

If you just want to know what to do to improve your search engine rankings, this ebook will give it to you straight.

At the beginning of the book, Steph goes over how she improved her traffic using SEO by giving actual blog stats of before and after. I appreciate this because it gives reason to trust what she is saying.

At the front there is also a cheat sheet to be printed out and hung up to remind you of the steps to take for each post.

Beautifully Designed E-Book

I find that many ebooks, especially the free ones but even the paid ones, just aren’t very pretty. I was immensely surprised at the beautiful design of the pages of the ebook. The design wasn’t so overpowering that I was looking at the design instead of the content but was beautiful enough that I was able to read and stay focused without my mind wandering.

Save Research Time

You could learn how to use SEO by doing your own research but there is a LOT out there about SEO, a lot of it over the heads of most bloggers or even if it’s not, it’s way more than you really need to know to get your blog ranking higher.  If you want to skip hours or day of research and wading through technical descriptions and explanations, it only costs $10 for the Easy SEO for Bloggers ebook. I wish I had found this ebook years ago.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the e-book to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are honest.
